My ultimate goal as a designer is to make the digital world more approachable and transparent.

My background

I started my career in design working in agencies (Viget, Brunch Digital, Friendly Design Co, and Bully Pulpit International), where I learned to work quickly and ideate on a large range of concepts with a high degree of craft and polish. This gave me a wide spectrum of experiences across many industries and mediums, including large tech companies, pre-seed startups, non-profits, government entities, and Fortune 100 businesses.

I've since transitioned to working in product, where I've spent most of my time focusing on financial technology at Found and Stripe. I'm passionate about working on products that are integral to people's daily lives, which is what originally led me to work on banking and payments.

I’ve also spent time as an adjunct instructor at my alma mater, American University, where I taught typography and select classes in interaction design.

Design philosophy

My approach to design is greatly influenced by my background from earlier in my career as a front-end developer, which is to say that I leverage systems thinking wherever possible – and think about each design decision within the context of the rest of the product.

I particularly excel where I can lead projects that impact multiple surfaces of the product or organization. Whether it's helping shape product strategy, conducting research, prototyping interface, pairing directly with analysts or engineers, QAing the product, or simply iterating on feature releases: I enjoy working across the product lifecycle in whatever format is necessary for the team.

I strive to create design that is backed in discovery, data, a strong understanding of technical constraints, and the priorities of the business.
